As the current a professor of the Law School of Fujian University of Technology, an advisor of master’s students , Dr. Xu, was selected as one of the national high-level intellectual property teachers in 2014, and a member in Fujian province jurist & law talent pool in 2019.

His social affiliation includes the vice President for Fujian Institute of Intellectual Property, Fujian province Law Society directorvice president of the Fujian Economic Law Institute,  executive director of Fujian Trademark Association, vice president of Fujian Enterprise Legal Workers Association council, arbitrator of Xiamen Arbitration Commission,  Fuzhou arbitration commission and Nanping arbitration commission, and Fujian Dazhong law firm lawyer.

He presided over five provincial projects including a Fujian IPO(intellectual property office)project, Research on intellectual property information of main southeast Asian countries, Research on property management legislation in residential areas in China and so on. He participated in four Provincial and ministerial projects, such as,Accelerating Fujian Intellectual Property Comprehensive management system reform process project, Fujian Province "One Belt and One Road" intellectual property promotion project, Research on Problems and Reform Suggestions on Strengthening Patent Protection etc. He published three monographs: Research on Property Management, Theory and Practice of Contract Law, and Case Study of Contract Law.; more than 30 papers, such as An Analysis of Intellectual Property Rights Infringement in Shanghai Free Trade Zone,, which have been published in the core journals such as Journal of the Press, Administration and Law, Theoretical Learning, Fujian Forum, Pacific Journal and the theoretical edition of Fujian Daily. He also organized and compiled Indonesia's Intellectual Property Guide, Singapore's Intellectual Property Guide, Thailand's Intellectual Property Guide, Malaysia's Intellectual Property Guide and Southeast Asian Countries’ Intellectual Property Question and Answer Manual, as well as organizing and constructing the website of Southeast Asian Countries' Intellectual Property.

Dr. Xu is the editor-in-chief or deputy editor of many textbooks, such as Contract Law, Economic Law, New Course of Enterprise Economic Law, Legal Practice of Enterprise Management, etc., all of which have been officially published. Among them, Contract Law and New Course of Enterprise Economic Law won the first prize of excellent textbooks in Jiangxi Province and excellent characteristic textbooks in Fujian Province respectively.
