Prof. Wang Gang, Doctor of Engineering, Doctoral Supervisor, is currently the Vice Dean (presiding over the work) and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Civil Engineering, Fujian University of Technology. He is a Distinguished Professor of Fujian Province Minjiang Scholars, a high-level introduced talent of Fujian Province, and a top-ranking talent of Qingdao.


He is a member of the Geotechnical Engineering Seismic and Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Committee of the China Earthquake Society; a member of the Underground Engineering Branch, Soft Rock Engineering and Deep Disaster Control Committee, Underground Space Branch, Testing Committee, Underwater Tunnel Engineering Technology Branch and Multi-Field Coupling Committee of China Rock Mechanics and Engineering Society. He is also a member of the First Discipline Review Group of the Shandong Provincial People's Government Degree Committee; and Director of the Engineering Safety and Protection Committee of the Shandong Railway Transportation Society.


His research interests are urban underground space development and utilization; theory and engineering application of tunnel and underground engineering support; new energy development and utilization. He has presided over and completed 4 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects and more than 20 other vertical and horizontal scientific research projects. Focusing on the coupling relationship between the "environment - deformation - damage - engineering " of fractured rock masses, he has deeply researched the deformation-damage law of fractured rock masses under the action of a complex geological environment and its anchoring mechanism, and formed the complete set of theory and technology of "key technology of stress-percolation test equipment and stability control of fractured rock masses". He has authorized more than 50 invention patents at home and abroad, among which the conversion amount of a single invention patent is up to 960,000 Yuan. He published 5 academic monographs, presided over the provincial first-class course "Rock Mechanics", and published a textbook of Rock Mechanics. His representative achievements have won 7 provincial and ministerial science and technology teaching awards, such as the second prize for the technical invention of the Ministry of Education, the first prize for the technical invention of Shandong Province, the second prize for a natural science of the Ministry of Education, and the second prize of teaching achievements of Shandong Province. He was awarded two second-class prizes for teaching achievements in Shandong Province. He has published more than 110 papers in international and national authoritative journals, such as the International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences, Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology, International Journal of Mining Science and Technology, Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, Chinese Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, Journal of China Coal Society, Rock and Soil Mechanics, etc.

Up to now, he has trained more than 60 post-doctoral, doctoral and master students.
